At Wollongong Osteopathy we understand how frustrating it can be when a sporting injury interrupts your normal daily activities and exercise routine. Our Osteopaths treat athletes of all abilities and may help with injury prevention and management, rehabilitation and treatment of common sporting injuries.
Our Osteopaths may diagnose and treat:
- Muscle strains such as hamstring, calf and groin strains
- Ligament sprains such as a rolled ankle
- Shin splints
- Knee and hip injuries
- Shoulder, elbow and wrist injuries
- Recurrent injuries
The aim of Osteopathic treatment is to accelerate your injury healing time, relieve pain, and to identify any other problem areas within your body that may be contributing to your injury. Our Osteopaths take a wholistic approach to the body, and may help to balance the muscles and joints for more fluent movements.
We use orthopedic tests to enable the diagnosis of many injuries. Although some injuries do require imaging (X-ray, MRI, CT, ultrasound) to determine the severity, many are successfully rehabilitated and treated with manual therapy and a tailored program.
